Video Walkthrough: [link]

It's my first time recording myself working so I was nervous as hell! Hehe!

It's all improvised so there are some mistakes and things I change as I go along.

In the end I also made some final adjustments which aren't in this video anymore since I already started uploading it. Thank God I made those changes though...

Anyway, Hope you enjoy.

stock from: stormsorceress (tree, balcony, water, rock)
Amor-Fati-stock (Cave Face)
Anarasha (Background texture)
Jesuisautre (Stone texture)

Everything else painted.

I was amazed by this piece before I watched the walk through, and now I'm just plain blown away. To see such a wonderful piece of art being created from the ground up in that walk through was so... wow. Haha I can't really think of the best words to describe that.

Great work!

That's one awesome video! And one awesome illustration even though you are making it "as you go" without any sketches or plan.

The changes you did really improved it too. The first tree could still be improved though since it seems to be as affected by atmospheric perspective than the other 2, and those are further back. Bring up its contrast and you'll see what I mean.

The texture you added at the end of your vid was definitely too much and thank god you took it off!! (or at least reduced it conciderably?)

I love how much detail your work has. The walkthrough is impressive. I note how the final piece differs though. Great work nonetheless.

What tablet do you use?

The end result itself was of course incredible (as it always is), but then I watched the video and my jaw dropped. I had no idea so much work went into a photomanip. DAAAAAAYUM you've got talent!!! Let the nay-sayers try to say -this- isn't your own work. Pfft

On a side note, that first song on the video - Who does that?? I really liked it.

I don't quite know what this is except that the tree obviously possesses human qualities (the eyes, the gaping maw of a mouth, etc.) There is the little boat so it's also a perverse tunnel of love(?)
I probably understand iIF this one doesn't get the raves you seem to be accustomed to as you exposed yourself to nerves by filming while doing. Hmmmm, I guess I'm not much for this type of obvious symbolism and sexual subconscious cavorting.
Good luck to you!

I call 'em as I see 'em...and that's what it's all about, ne c'est pas? Art is viewed from many perspectives, and it is largely a discipline with a lot of psychological nuance. That's why art is encouraged in the treatment of depression, psychosis, and so on. It is likewise healing. So we agree that we can each and all have an opinion. Besides, I was responding to foolishness...At worst it is "like for like" -- at best, it is a glimpse into someone's lack of critical thinking ability (not mine, but rather the one to whom I was inferring my comments.) Thanks for the note! I wonder why that would bother you to the degree that you would write to me about it. That in itself is revealing.

I've seen similar drawing ideas executed.. it's not that great... but I guess you get points for composition. I guess I'm just sick of fantasy pictures from everyone on DA that can't think of something meaningful to do with their art.. o well. Just my opinion ;)

start with a very small one, it will do the trick. Be careful that you don't get one of those that are more aimed at 'writing' rather than drawing...

I'm a fan of your photomanipulations, and it was very interesting to watch the video of your work. Much appreciated. I've been wanting to try photomanips but haven't been inspired yet, but that video gives me a little courage to go for it. :)
